corny

A pet peeve is something that bothers you, that irritates you subtly. So it’s something that you don’t like, that annoys you, that you complain about, like, “oh, I hate this,” or “this really bothers me.” It’s only little things. So a little thing in your everyday life that bothers you.

Maura: What is that sound?
Robin: Um, I don’t know what you are talking about.
Maura: Robin! Stop clicking your pen!
Robin: I’m sorry.
Maura: It’s driving me crazy!
Robin: I didn’t know that it was one of your pet peeves, I’m sorry!
