Khyber Pass ~ Afghanistan Restaurant

Khyber Pass
Summer is almost over. But how can you still enjoy summer’s end? We have an idea: Why don’t you go to a restaurant with a terrace, and eat delicious food while sipping on a glass of wine? This month, we are trying food from Afghanistan at Restaurant Khyber Pass. Afghanistan seems to have been influenced by India, Turkey, and the Middle East due a history of invasions. I can’t wait to see what kind of food they have! And what’s more, it’s BYOW. (Bring your own wine!!)

Bodana Kabâb
Bodana Kabâb ~Quails Brochette ($18.95)
This is one of their most popular dishes. It is suggested that you may be better off to eat it with your hands, as it may be difficult with a fork. The meat is tough to bite. Its texture is like a “muscle”. It might go well with wine. But your hands will get very greasy… Not recommended for a first date!!

Sabzi Chalaw
Sabzi Chalaw ($18.95)
The lamb is very tender, and it goes perfectly with the tri-coloured rice. When you eat them together, you will forget to talk…

Salad and tri-coloured Basmati rice
Salad and tri-coloured Basmati rice
These two dishes are served with salad and tri-coloured Basmati rice. The salad is a bit salty, but light. Each differently coloured grain of rice has a slightly different flavour from the other. These side dishes are also very good. You may feel like asking for seconds.
